The smell as we walked into the shop was wonderful - it made you smile just to stand there and take in the atmosphere. The bread was stacked shelf upon shelf. All sorts of shapes and sizes of bread.
One thing I noticed every day in every village and town we visited was the number of local people walking with a stick of freshly baked french bread under their arm.
