Took this photograph in a French patisserie in La Rochelle.The custard topped little cakes with cherries embedded were amongst the simplest yet most appealling in the display cabinet.
NOTE: La Rochelle is an enchanting city - full of charm, character and steeped in medieval history. Some of the greatest medieval kings and queens visited this place - but more of that in another post!
