Chinon Castle

Chinon Castle has to be one of Europe's finest and most famous medieval fortresses.

The castle has an amazing and colourful history dotted with the names of many famous medieval figures - from Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine to Richard The Lionheart, King John I, Joan of Arc and others..

Here is a wonderful audio visual presentation showing Chinon Castle in all its glory to the soundtrack of some fabulous atmospheric music. Certainly the best presentation of it on the web I've seen to date.

Chinon is of course just one of many medieval castles in France. I get very excited about medieval history so will be covering these other castles soon :)
